Y-Knot, thanks for the specific location in the book. I still don't see where it mentions faders, but I guess it could be applied to those who leave the congo after being hurt. It only specifically mentions dfd and those that disassociate.
It really matters how each jw decides to hear the info. They have always said to be careful of anyone in or out, just to keep everyone suspicious. I still wonder if they are orally stressing this from the platform.

this is a really irritating text that i received from an old jw acquaintance.. .
i would like to tell you that the latest book we received 'keep yourselves in god's love', says that jw have to strictly avoid someone disfellowshipped.
the same applies to someone who left organization.
That is really interesting because I keep hearing that jws quote that book to say they should not associate with those who left, but are not dfd. I have the book on download and can't find anything in it that speaks of those that just left. It does give the hardline stance on dfd ones.
I wonder if they are going beyond what the book says when speaking from the platform?
Anyway, I am sorry for your friend's unkindness. Mrs. Jones may be right.

so the first step, i would say, is invite them over for coffee.
Be careful how hard the questions are at first. You may just scare them away if you know too much and appear to be an apostate. You might ask about their beliefs on Armegeddon. Most jws have some reservations about God destroying decent people and little children. They don't like to think about it too much.

Thanks, AAG, for explaining. That makes me wonder if the locals are ever jealous of the free and probably better living the missionaries have from the society. My friend ended up being a branch servant and everything was pretty nice for them.

Hey, awakened at gilead, I noticed that there are allowances for upkeep , food, etc. Does the society provide well or really make you scrape through each month?
Friends of ours were missionaries and one of them got sick and they had to return to the states for a year or so. When they were reassigned, they asked us to chip in to help them afford to fly to their new assignment. I thought this was crazy that the society couldn't pay for this. We ended up chipping in to help.

i looked around the other forums and realized i just don't need them anymore.
i have logged in here probably 10% of my former time since the announcement, first to do the 'admin' stuff that was happening immediately following - but now usually only once a day, maybe 10 minutes, and can't even find much of interest while i do that.

CBD, I've been an RN since the 80's, so I know all about the downside of nursing. It is only getting worse too. I still find those moments of satisfaction in helping a patient who truly appreciates it.

Simon's announcement did kinda take the wind out of the sails of JWD. It also forced me to look into other uses for my time. I have grown children still in, so our family is divided and that still grabs me by the heartstrings. I am trying to get into remission with a serious disease and that keeps me from moving on also. If I get my energy back (life really), I will go back to college or maybe just pursue my career as a nurse.

i havn't been to a meeting since about april this year and have been inactive since a year before that.. i do not want to be d'f'd or to disassociate as i have all my family still in,my dear old mum(nearly ninety,in da troof sixty years) right down to great nephews and nieces etc.
Sounds like they were giving you the apostate test! Hopefully, they will go away now.
